Dodgeball Tournament

Picture this – balls are lined up on a center line, right in front of you. The whistle blows and you rush to grab a ball, and run back to your own court. Then all hell breaks loose and you see balls flying at you, next to you and in all dizzying directions. What do you do? You dodge, duck, dip, dive…. and dodge!

Sounds fun, right? Then join us for a friendly tournament among the LA advertising community.  This year’s tournament is taking place at the LA Galaxy Soccer Center in Torrance (oh yeah!), and proceeds will benefit the MAT Program (double oh yeah!). As in past years, the event will host up to 20 teams (first come, first served). Each team may have a total of eight players* who will participate in a double-bracket tournament, until there’s only one team left standing.

*Your team must consist of:
- A minimum of two female players
- Six players must be Agency employees
- Only two sales reps per team

One team per agency or sponsor.

If you’re not playing on a team but still want to root for your friends, then you can catch all the fun in-person as a spectator!

What is MAT?

mat-program-logo.pngThe Multicultural Advertising Training Program, also known as The MAT Program, is one of the nation’s most influential training programs available for culturally diverse college students interested in the advertising, marketing and media industries in the Los Angeles area.  As an advocate for diversity within these industries, the MAT Program provides educational programs and internships to college students each year.  Participants are selected based on academic excellence and passion for the industry and whose profiles indicate they would benefit from the guidance and support available through MAT. To date, MAT has mentored and placed over 700 participants in internships at some of the most high profile companies in Los Angeles – many leading to full-time positions.   For more information about the program, visit MATProgram.org. The MAT Program is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Sponsorships and ticket purchases are tax deductible as allowable by law.
